Social entrepreneur, fashion designer, executive producer, actor and activist Angela Simmons is an emerging leader and voice to her generation. Following in the footsteps of her father Rev Run of RUN DMC, Hip Hop’s musical pioneers and uncle Russell Simmons, of Def Jam, Baby Phat and the Rush Card. The aspiring creative leader has launched a faux fur line named Foofi inspired by her desire to provide an alternative to real fur. Created in the spirit of protecting against the abuse of animals in the fashion industry, Foofi will be available on line for the fall/winter season of 2015.
The reality TV star is also returning to television this fall on a show that reveals her business endeavors and is also co-starting in an upcoming full feature film on the fashion industry with Tyson Bedford called “Supermodel.”
Best known for her success with Pastry, a footwear line created and launched with her sister Vanessa, the opportunity allowed her to develop her design and business skills. She is also known for her roles on MTV’s hit shows “Run’s House,” “Daddy’s Girls” and BET’s “106th and Park.”
A frequent spokesperson and advocate of women and teen girl issues, the Queens native is actively concerned about local issues affecting her community. Angela host’s an annual event entitled “Girl Talk “that empowers teens on a local level to pursue their dreams and is always excited to share the stage with other influencers who share this passion.
